Hand-set type and collaborative bookmaking experiences
A group’s poems become a hand-printed, folded hardcover book.
Lead Graffiti / Ray Nichols and Jill Cypher
Lead Graffiti’s Haiku Meander workshop combines original poems, hand-set wood and metal type, letterpress printing and an unusual no-sew, no-glue hardcover binding. Participants contribute pages to a shared book and can keyboard their names on an Intertype hot-metal line caster. Its contact page invites workshop requests with a proposed date.
Current location note / listed area: Newark, Delaware studio; group workshops by date inquiry
This is a studio craft experience, not a mobile wedding printing bar. Confirm whether the requested private group, poet collaborator, machinery activity and date can be accommodated. The workshop describes ages 15 and up and generally six to fourteen participants. Finished-book quantities vary within the page; confirm completed copies versus extra printed materials. Separate wedding-invitation commissions do not establish a wedding-specific workshop.
