Private wooden-surfboard building experiences
Build a wooden surfboard together over several days
Grain Surfboards
Grain’s private Purist workshop teaches a participant to assemble and shape a wooden surfboard using planks, an internal frame and hand tools. The five-day format is customized around the builder, and the FAQ explicitly allows a partner to help build one board. A separate private Camp Grain format spreads workshop time around exploring the area.
Current location note / listed area: York, Maine; arranged private workshops at the board-building shop
Inquiry only: workshop pages display both Sold out and Add to cart wording; confirm current acceptance and dates through the separate contact/private-workshop invitation. The build ends ready for fiberglass, not automatically ready to surf; glassing is excluded and arranged separately. This is a working woodshop with sustained standing and tool use, not a reception activity. Confirm partner arrangements, access, finishing and transport; no wedding package or safety guarantee.
